Peanut Butter Ice Cream

peanut butter icecream

Peanut Butter Ice cream is peanut butter lover’s dream. This is a salty and creamy ice cream. Unlike other ice cream, this ice cream is egg less. I added Reese’s mini cups in this to make it peanut butter explosion!

I have made various ice creams at home since my childhood days. I love making ice creams at home. Homemade ice creams are organic meaning it has no artificial ingredients, no weird stabilizers, or no fake thickeners. I use whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, and the flavorings like peanut butter in this case. Other Homemade ice creams to enjoy are Fresh Fig and Toasted Walnut Ice Cream, Baileys Coffee Ice Cream and Chai Masala Gelato. I’m sure you will love these ice creams as well.

My boys love Peanut Butter, especially my younger one. He used to eat peanut butter and pep-ridge farm goldfish as afternoon snack! He would take peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch at least once a week to school if not more. He can live on peanut butter. My elder one on the other hand would not take PBJ sandwiches to the school for lunch because he didn’t like to sit at the peanut table away from his friends! Both of them loved peanut butter candy and peanut butter ice cream. They grew up eating peanut butter and everything that has peanut butter in it.

My boys wanted to eat peanut butter ice cream. I made it in my Cuisinart (not sponsored) ice cream machine. In 30 minutes or so ice cream was ready to be set in the freezer. That was quick!

Let’s go over the steps of how to make homemade peanut butter ice cream:

I am making the ice cream in Cuisinart ice cream machine. Put the freezer bowl in the freezer at least 24 hours before. This is a very necessary step.

In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter and sugar using hand mixer on a low speed until smooth.

Add milk and let it mix on low speed. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.

Cover and refrigerate 1 to 2 hours or even overnight.

Turn on the Cuisinart ice cream maker, pour the mixture into freezer bowl. Let mix until thickened, about 20 minutes. Five minutes before mixing is complete, add chopped Reese’s mini cups. Let it mix completely. At this time, ice cream will have a soft, creamy texture. If a firmer consistency is desired, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and place it in the freezer for about 2 hours or more.

Take out the container from freezer 15 minutes before serving, Add Reese’s pieces and/or Reese’s mini cups on top. Enjoy!
